COLLIE ASSOCIATION SHOW 2022 Best in Show

Smith’s CH / Multi CH Winter is Coming to Tentola This 6 year old smooth male has everything just where it should be with a near perfect forehand made up of excellent shoulders and straight limbs and just enough bone supported by the best of compact feet. He has a strong well chiselled head with dark expressive eyes and just enough stop to be noticeable. Carries his ears well and makes full use when alerted. Powerful muscle toning throughout enabling the accuracy and controlled gait displayed here today. Given his build and presentation he would, in my opinion, be happy working all day and still have reserves at the end.

Reserve Best in Show
Walder’s CH Beldones La Vita Bella for Hanvale JW Another 6 year old this time sable rough that is well constructed throughout but not as precise in forehand as the smooth. She scores well in head with appealing well set eyes and ears to give a very good expression. Well toned in forehand and complimented to a “T” in her quarters allowing her to cover the ground with plenty of drive but a tad close going away, I did take into account the very hot day and the fact that she was shown in full jacket and probably suffered on the day. That said she is a well worthy CH.

Best Puppy in Show
Hawkins & Foy’s Beldones Sound Gold At just 10 months old this precocious young female should have a very bright future judging by todays showing. Good head to handle with clean lines, strong jaws and pleasing expression thanks to her well set ears and eyes. Ample length of neck into well placed shoulders and straight front. Enough in ribbing for her age, topline is a tad soft at times but this comes good on the move and will tighten as she matures on for sure. Well defined quarters allowing a reasonable driving action and fluency in side gait. Again was maybe a victim of the heat but her build said she could move and she did. Needs to tighten through with maturity.

Best Veteran in Show
Cooney’s CH Jopium Stole My Heart at Lingwell 9 year old male in full bloom. Stacks up well in profile. Strong balanced headpiece with enough stop and well set on ears. Because of the heat and him standing alone with an abundant jacket I did not move him as I felt it would have been unfair on him to do so. I did see him moving in his class and he was sound and true. Full credit to his owner for keeping him so fit and agile.
